The antithesis of saying goodbye
Is the Genesis of embracing goodness.
The latter is welcomed in finesse,
But the former is hard to witness.
A mother’s heartbeat of oxymoron,
Contrasting her grandchild’s nephron.
All aimed for the same good result.
Such is life; like sugar and salt.
A wife’s long awaited embrace,
A husband’s lonely footsteps on foreign terrace.
When the saying “I miss you”
Now sounds fainter than hue.
A gap is about to be bridged,
Yet other bonds are rigged.
A time to miss an uncle,
Like a pain in one’s ankle.
Grandma had urge to cry,
But tears so short and dry.
Kids yearn for time to run fast,
Adults share memories for the last.
Just like a dream but we saw it all,
Entering terminals big and small.
As if just going for a stroll,
Until the pilot took control.
Yes, God took the wheel,
And now the dream is real.
A family reunited together,
By faith and none other.
